Description

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, halved lengthwise
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Italian-style preferred)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create thin cutlets and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up three bowls: flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in eggs, and coat with breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
