Description

A smooth and creamy lemon cream cheese frosting with a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess, ideal for cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.


Ingredients

  • 200 g cream cheese, softened
  • 100 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups (240 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened cream cheese and butter together in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition until the frosting is thick and smooth.
  3. Add the lemon zest, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Continue beating until the frosting is fully combined and fluffy.
  5. If the frosting is too soft, chill it for 15–20 minutes. If too thick, add a small amount of lemon juice to adjust the consistency.

Notes

  • Add extra lemon zest for a stronger citrus flavor.
  • Mix in a little whipped cream for a lighter texture.
  • Try orange or lime zest for a different citrus variation.
