Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs

- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups old-fashioned oats

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then mix until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Stir in the oats and chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing into squares.
Notes
- Do not overbake to keep the bars soft and chewy.
- Quick oats can be used, but the texture will be softer.
- Add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
