Ingredients
- 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the sliced peaches in a mixing bowl and toss with 1/2 cup of the sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually stir in the milk until a smooth batter forms.
- Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter without stirring.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter without stirring.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbling around the edges.
- Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Add 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon to the peaches for extra warmth.
- Use a combination of peaches and berries for a mixed-fruit cobbler.
