Description

A classic homemade peach cobbler made with sweet juicy peaches and a buttery golden topping. This comforting dessert is easy to prepare and perfect for family gatherings, holidays, or a cozy weeknight treat.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the sliced peaches in a mixing bowl and toss with 1/2 cup of the sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually stir in the milk until a smooth batter forms.
  6. Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter without stirring.
  7. Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter without stirring.
  8. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbling around the edges.
  9. Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Add 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon to the peaches for extra warmth.
  • Use a combination of peaches and berries for a mixed-fruit cobbler.
  • Replace vanilla extract with almond extract for a different flavor.
  • Canned or frozen peaches may be used when fresh peaches are unavailable; drain well before using.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze individual portions for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat in the microwave for 30–60 seconds or in a 350°F (175°C) oven until warmed through.
