Quick, chewy, no-bake peanut butter Rice Krispie treats with a perfect balance of sweet, salty, creamy, and crunchy flavors.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 package (10 oz / about 280 g) mini marshmallows
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
- Add the mini marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth.
- Mix in the peanut butter, vanilla extract, and salt until fully combined and creamy.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and immediately fold in the Rice Krispies cereal.
- Stir gently until all the cereal is evenly coated.
- Press the mixture into a greased or parchment-lined baking dish, spreading it evenly without pressing too firmly.
- Let the treats cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- Do not overcook the marshmallows or the treats may turn hard.
- Press the mixture gently into the pan to keep the bars soft and chewy.
- You can use chunky peanut butter for extra texture.
- For variation, drizzle melted chocolate on top or mix in chocolate chips, chopped peanuts, or butterscotch chips.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Freezing is possible by wrapping each square tightly and thawing at room temperature before serving.
