Description

A quick homemade savory hoisin sauce with sweet, salty, tangy, and mildly spicy flavors, perfect as a dipping sauce, marinade, glaze, or stir-fry sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon water, plus more if needed

Instructions

  1. Place the soy sauce, peanut butter, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a small bowl.
  2. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic, sriracha sauce, and Chinese five-spice powder.
  4. Add the water a little at a time until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
  5. Taste and adjust the sweetness, spice, or thickness as needed.
