Description
Warm and gooey Smookies that combine chocolate chip cookies, melted chocolate, and marshmallows into a fun campfire-inspired dessert perfect for sharing.
Ingredients
- 1 roll (16.5 oz) refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
- 12 large marshmallows
- 6 full graham cracker sheets, broken in half
- 6 milk chocolate bars or 12 chocolate squares
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, for greasing skillet or foil pans
Instructions
- Preheat oven or campfire grill to medium heat.
- Lightly grease small cast-iron skillets or foil pans with butter.
- Press a layer of cookie dough into the bottom of each skillet or pan.
- Arrange chocolate pieces evenly over the cookie dough.
- Top with marshmallows.
- Cover with another thin layer of cookie dough, sealing edges gently.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) or cook over indirect campfire heat for 15–20 minutes until golden brown and gooey.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving with graham crackers for scooping.
Notes
- Use indirect heat to prevent marshmallows from burning.
- Homemade cookie dough works well as a substitute.
- Try peanut butter cups or dark chocolate for flavor variations.
- Add crushed pretzels or nuts for extra crunch.
