Description
S’mores Krispie Bars are easy no-bake cereal treats made with crispy rice cereal, melted marshmallows, graham cracker pieces, and milk chocolate chips for a chewy, crunchy, nostalgic dessert.
Ingredients
- 6 cups crispy rice cereal
- 10 ounces mini marshmallows
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup broken graham cracker pieces
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Extra mini marshmallows for topping
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in the crispy rice cereal and graham cracker pieces until evenly coated.
- Press half of the mixture into the prepared pan.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips and extra mini marshmallows over the layer.
- Press the remaining cereal mixture on top very gently.
- Let the bars cool for about 30 minutes before slicing into squares.
Notes
- Do not press the cereal mixture too firmly, or the bars may become dense and hard.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
- Microwave a bar for 5 to 10 seconds if you want it extra soft.
- Avoid refrigerating because the bars can become too firm.
- Freeze tightly wrapped bars for up to 2 months and thaw at room temperature before serving.
- Dark chocolate, white chocolate, peanut butter chips, crushed pretzels, or a melted chocolate drizzle can be used as variations.
