Ingredients
- 1 pound (450 g) ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 packet (about 2 tablespoons) taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 20–24 tortilla chips or mini phyllo shells
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Drain excess fat from the skillet.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water, then simmer for a few minutes until thickened.
- Arrange tortilla chips or mini shells on a serving tray.
- Spoon a small amount of seasoned beef onto each base.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the warm beef so it melts slightly.
- Top with diced tomatoes, red onion, black olives, and shredded lettuce.
- Add a small dollop of sour cream to each bite.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve immediately.
